The story of Charles Windolph who saw action under Custer's command and was a recipient of the Medal of Honor. Windolph was still alive in 1946 and was interviewed by the Hunts. He died in 1950 at the age of 98. The first part of this book is Windolph's story. The second part of the book contains documents official reports letters and eye-witness accounts of those who were there. Inscription recipient's bookplate and name stamp on front pastedown sheet tiny "ding" to bottom edge of front cover newspaper clippings and booklet affixed to rear endpapers plus an inked sentiment regarding Custer and his competence as a military commander else a very good internally clean copy in dust jacket with a bit of old cellophane tape reinforcement to the verso light wear to the spine ends and a few small chips nicks and closed tears to the extremities.
