First U.S trade edition. Introduction by Douglas Haig. Text by C.E. Montague. An engrossing collection of First World War images by Britain's first official war artist. In total there are over 200 plates including reproductions of black & white pencil drawings charcoal sketches colour etchings paintings and drypoints with additional chapterhead illustrations.
