The medaillons show the most prominent naturalists and explorers of the previous 100 years. Many other naturalists are represented by text engravings with allegorical settings. the five plain plates show various places near or within the museum zoo and gardens; the hand-coloured plates depict flowers and birds; the four maps show growth of the gardens over time.
