Doran as the publisher the individual parts give Doubleday Page & Co. except for part 10 Ship Building which bears the London imprint Country Life and George Newnes. Muirhead Bone 1876-1953 was the first official British war artist during World War One. A heavy set; for international shipping the U.S. Postal Service requires that it be shipped by priority international. In Very Good Condition: portfolio covers are rubbed with loss from edges of paper spine labels and fraying at corners of spines; small stain at upper fore-edge of vol. 1 board; chipping to fore-edges of wrapper of vol. 2 pt. 1; otherwise clean and bright. The drawing and magazines inside are in very good condition with one or two loose caption pages.</p><p>About the item: Sir Muirhead Bone was a Scottish etcher and watercolorist who became known for his depiction of industrial and architectural subjects and his work as a war artist in both the First and Second World Wars. Originally these drawings were issued in 10 parts. Volume 1 contains the original 5 parts in their original covers and crisp clean dustwrappers. Pictorial dustwrapper is edge-worn with a few closed tears which have been repaired to verso with clear tape no loss top & tail of spine rubbbed with loss of surface paper and minor chipping.
