19105960no place given - likely Boston: Manning's Folding Umbrella 1910. First Edition . Folded sheet. Very good. Folded sheet measuring 3.5" x 6.25" folded and 14" x 6.25" unfolded. In very good condition a bit dust-soiled on the front wrap else clean and bright. Fantastic image-driven promotional pamphlet for "Manning's Folding Umbrella" noting a patent date of October 26 1909. The rear side of this folding brochure contains four panels with large photographic illustrations of the process of folding the umbrella including detailed text description. The folding umbrella is a bit more complex than the modern concept. We locate no copies of this pamphlet in OCLC but found an example of the umbrella itself including the original pouch as seen here! at the New Hampshire Historical Society. A rare and amusing document emerging from a driven New England inventor whose product likely never really took off. Manning's Folding Umbrella unknown
