Gebonden onder kartonomslag in kleur, 235 x 270mm., 192pp., 100 illustraties in kleuren. ISBN 9789061539995.

PB, 330 x 255 mm, 424 pages, 480 illustrations, ENG edition. ISBN 9789462302310. This book deals in three parts with the complete Gillion Crowet Collection, which with its approximately three hundred pieces forms a reference collection in the field of the parures of the Moroccan Berber women. The collection, which focuses on the production of silver from the countryside, paints a broad panorama of the creative centers, drawing on pieces of exceptional quality not found in any other public collection today. The first part explores the historical continuity of Berber culture from the Neolithic on and examines the - still topical - issue of a Saharan culture forced to settle elsewhere by desertification. In response to this historical approach, the second part highlights the close relationship that makes the parures the "screen image" of the Berber woman. The third part explores the places where the parures were produced. The jewels are reduced to a topography of creation that runs from North to South and from East to West, with a fundamental anchorage in the southeast of Morocco.

HB+, 280 x 230 mm, 400 p, 300 colour illustrations English edition . ISBN 9788836635078. The objective of the book is exploring (through careful and rigorous archive research) the scenario of Italian twentieth-century jewellery by delving into the evolution of this art through chronological sectors illustrating different aspects of this production - approximately from 1900 until 1990. Various chapters in the book are dedicated to Neo-Historism, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, to the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s and ultimately from the 1960s to the 1990s while highlighting the difference and uniqueness of Italian jewels. Alongside the works, many preparatory drawings still preserved in the archives of prestigious jeweller and private collections that have generously granted permission to consult these precious and mostly unexplored documents will be published in this book. In many cases, this will envisage the actual discovery of the identity of this great Italian production of millennial tradition. Renowned names will be present: Mario Buccellati, Alfredo Ravasco, the Musy family from Turin, the Petochi family from Rome. Particular attention will be paid to the 1960s and 1970s as they marked the birth of the new Bulgari style. The review will be presenting works created by the jeweller Mario Masenza in collaboration with painters and sculptors such as Afro, Cannilla, Capogrossi and Uncini, and the "new jewels" initiated by the brothers Arnaldo and Gio Pomodoro. During the 1980s and 1990s we have to mention the creations by Pomellato, Gio Caroli and Riviere. The book comes to a conclusion with some in-depth studies of manufacturing centres of excellence in the Italian jewellery sector, such as Valenza, Vicenza, Arezzo and Padua School. The book comes to a close with the biographies of all the Italian jewellers and goldsmiths mentioned within, in addition to 350 unprecedented images including precious archive documents: sketches, photographs of models wearing vintage jewellery, colour/black and white photographs of jewellery specimens.

Margaret Mee (1909-88) traveled to the Amazon area 15 times over a 32 year period, by canoe, on foot and often alone. Her paintings and sketches "could stand without shame in the high company of such masters as Georg Dionysius Ehret and Redoute" (Wilfred Blunt). Mee was a passionate conservationist and devoted her life to recording the diversity and beauty of the Amazon. She was one of the first to protest the destruction still taking place there. Sitwell in Great Flower Books describes her work as: 'exceptional and quite in the tradition of the great eighteenth-century books '. 'Mee's work is of an unusually high order of excellence and in the best tradition of flower painting' [Taylor, director of Royal Botanic Garden of Kew]. 'Mee was a talented botanical painter and intrepid traveller. . .an exceptional personality' [Oak Spring Flora]. One of the plants illustrated was discovered by Mee herself.
