All photos 5'' x 7'' approx. <br/><br/>Collection of original photographs the majority dated showing a portion of a Yonkers sugar refinery under construction in great detail. The Federal Sugar Refining Co. run by the Spreckels family built its refinery on the east bank of the Hudson River in 1901 reorganizing what was once the National Sugar Refinery; the same site would later be taken over by American Sugar Refining and still operates under the ownership of Domino Sugar. Images document the building progress from April 16 1909 to May 27 1909 showing the site both empty and with men and horses at work. hardcover books

The two-page four panel illustration at the center of the booklet depicts the journey of the sugar from the field to arrival at the refinery to spin-down separation in the centrifuges and finally to the massive machinery used for packaging the final product. Pagine pienamente agibili alla lettura anche se naturalmente e leggermente ingiallite dal tempo in particolare ai tagli esterni e sporadicamente fiorite ai margini esterni dei primi fogli.
