Top reads: "New Style Box Adopted July 1 1916 / Drefs' / Mandrake Compound / Liver Pills / Price 35 cents -- 40 Pills / 3 Boxes for $1.00 / Prepared for / Charles A. Drefs / Manufacturing Chemist / 280 Broadway / Buffalo N. Y." Bottom reads: "Dose / One Pill at Night When Required / Cannot Be Given to Children." 3 tins just a little scratched but overall bright and fine. They don't make 'em like this anymore. /// Admiral Dewey. The Maine Gold Eyed Sharps. 5/10. America c. 1950s. Two small folded packs 22 x 42mm of Maine Gold Eyed Sharps illustrated in full-color on the front with a small portrait of Admiral Dewey his ship and an eagle. Needles are preserved in black and gold paper with a printed star pattern with another banner on the inside reading: "Our easy threading parabola gold ey'd needles are warranted to excel all other brands in Finish and Quality the Eyes are Beveled and Gauged thereby making sewing much easier. Best in the World." A nice specimen of the era's typographic and packaging design. Illustration lightly chipped along the edges on one of the packets otherwise in excellent condition. /// Rodi Drawing-Pins. Germany early-to-mid 1900s. Sliding matchbox-style box of tacks 39 x 53mm. Printed in red green and blue it boasts "Pin will not pass through the head." Box a little faded and very faintly stained with just 3 pins left. /// Tin Box "Pick A Pin" New York: M. M. Oganesoff early-to-mid 1900s. Oval tin box 64mm at its greatest diameter 45mm tall with printed label and a hole in the top. Press down on the lid and a pin pops up! Tin a bit dust-soiled and darkened but functions just fine. /// Tin of Leather Polish: Columbus Russet Leather Polishing Paste. New York: Columbus Polish Corporation early-to-mid 1900s. Circular orange tin 75mm diameter illustration and lettering printed in black. Tin manufactured by Burdick and Son of Albany New York. Small round silver tin label printed in red and black 40mm diameter. A little scratched otherwise fine. /// Vintage Tin of Recoton Melograph Needles. Switzerland early-to-mid 1900s. Small green tin with flip-top lid lettering "Melograph Recoton Laubschik" and musical notes printed in gold on the top. Gold paper seal printed in red is open but the box is nearly full. A few tiny scratches otherwise in excellent condition -- and quite uncommon. The Melograph similar to the Melodiograph is a mechanical apparatus for ethnomusicological transcription usually producing some sort of graph that can be preserved and filed similar to a recording of music. /// Agfa Plenachrome Film for Memo Camera. Binghamton NY: Agfa Ansco Corporation 1935. Small cardboard box 31 x 31 x 35mm printed in red yellow blue and white; and containing film cartridge. Someone has pencilled "shot" on the inside top of the box. Manufacturer's stamps on the bottom indicate the date. In excellent condition with a sticker for the National Recovery Association on the back. /// Y & S Licorice Wafers for Coughs Due to Colds -- Enjoyed by Smokers.
