An untitled song in six stanzas preceded by an introductory paragraph. Scattered foxing and light horizontal creasing very good. As noted in the introduction the song was composed “By a member of the Young Ladies’ Institute and to be sung by the Young Ladies of the School. It is requested that the whole company join in the chorus.†The song was sung to the tune of “Auld Lang Syneâ€. A scarce broadside likely distributed among the students attending a jubilee or other special event at the school. The Young Ladies’ Institute was a female seminary “of the highest rank†founded in 1841 by Rev. W.H. Tyler at Pittsfield in Berkshire County. OCLC locates only one other known copy at The American Antiquarian Society which was removed from a copy of Institute’s third annual catalogue of 1844. Pittsfield Young Ladies’ Institute unknown

In very good condition clean and bright with two flattened folds barely noticeable and a one-inch tear to one fold at the margin; contents unaffected. Excellent engraving of the product a planished steel coffee pot with wood handle. The engraving is a partial cutaway to reveal the interior workings of the product. We note no holdings of this broadside separately listed in OCLC nor any company records therein which might help triangulate the date. Searches of the company name and address suggest an approximate date of 1880-1900 though it could be slightly earlier. The Clipper Manufacturing Company unknown

The Chicago Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway owns and operates over 6600 miles of thoroughly equipped road in Illinois Wisconsin Iowa Minnesota South Dakota North Dakota Missouri and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Brule County South Dakota is situated in the heart of the famous Missouri River Valley being bounded on the west by the Missouri River on the south by Charles Mix County on the east by Aurora County and on the north by Buffalo County. Jerauld County joins Brule on the northeast corner. Views of farms cattle and sheep ranches and Chamberlain a town in the county. They promote plenty of water for farming as sourced by the Missouri River and numerous artesian wells that are scattered over the county. In addition to livestock production there is much wheat corn oats dairy products orchards etc. due to the fertile ground water climate and availability to markets. In addition to Chamberlain the county seat the towns of Pukwanaand Kimball are touted as being good places to live. 1869003736London: Pardon and Son 1869. Double sided lithographed ticket for the opening ceremony of Bunhill Fields cemetery approximately 270mm x 190mm in size. Front with one or two tiny spots of foxing but is generally quite bright and clean reverse with remnants of glue from once being stuck in an album with some light discolouring and surface abrasion but not affecting text. The reverse is a plan of the burial ground with the location of prominent internees numbered John Bunyan Daniel De Foe Richard Cromwell Isaac Watts Thomas Hardy John Horne Tooke etc. It is the burial ground of Nonconformists. This 'opening ceremony' it had already been in use for over two hundred years was to celebrate the development of the site by the City of London. This involved laying out paths undertaking tree planting and carrying out repair work to the tombs including re-cutting and recording inscriptions. Ferguson 12666. From Ferguson: This satirical verse commentry on the Sydney personalities of the day was sent to various people by mail in January 1855. Three such copies in D.L bear a Sydney postmark with dates of 19 to Judge Therry 20 & 22 Jan 1855. Two such copies in M.L bear the postmark date 20 Jan. This original edition may be easily distinguished from later facsimiles by poorer paper no better than newsprint by occasional broken letters. Susspicion immediately fell on Sir Thomas Livingston Mitchell Surveyor General as the most likely author although he denied any knowledge.Mitchell's daughter married J.F. Mann whose son G.V.F Mann in a letter to Miss Windeyer. 17 April 1924 in M.L. states "the satire 'Ichneumon' was written by Livingston Mitchell son of Sir Thos." . Sydney, N.D.[1855] hardcover
