Over 100 sheets illustrating the English milk industry milk maids all things milk. 32 engravings 2 vinegar valentines 2 color illustrations 2 hand bills two small illustrations by "H. W. P." one printed on unusual silvered paper or silver of a man delivering milk in a town numbered "55" and a colored print of the same image unnumbered in colored woodblock. Over 20 pages of newspaper clippings carefully mounted on folio sheets 13 1/2 x 11 1/2" discussing milk adulteration milk famine etc. Newspapers clipped include the Daily Telegraph and Fun great name for a newspaper. Edges a little ruffled & musty. Overall a very interesting collection impossible to recreate. unknown

Les planches, rognées court en pied, représentent en 5 figures, des galactomètre, thermomètre et lactomètre, ce dernier de la conception de l'auteur : Dinocourt était constructeur d'instruments de physique et de chimie en verre au 9 quai Saint-Michel à Paris. Sont jointes des tables de corrections pour le lait avec sa crème et pour le lait écrémé. - Apollinaire Bouchardat et Théodore-Auguste Quevenne, Instruction pour l'essai et l'analyse du lait. 32 pp, figures et tableau dans le texte. Tiré à part, extrait du Répertoire de pharmacie, juillet-août 1856. Cachet annulé de l'institut catholique de Paris et étiquette en pied du dos. Coiffes arasées, coins usés.
