Van Dine the fourth of twelve Philo Vance mystery novels. The body of man nicknamed "Cock Robin" is found at an archery range with an arrow through the heart and a chess bishop left as a clue. Basil Rathbone's only portrayal of the stylish New York P.I. Philo Vance.
