The restaurant went on years after his death. Mailhebuau is probably most famous for Frank's Rotisserie and Old Poodle Dog restaurants in San Francisco. Adolph Bernard Spreckles 1857-1924 "was a California businessman who ran Spreckels Sugar Company and who donated the California Palace of the Legion of Honor art museum to the city of San Francisco in 1924. His wife Alma was called the "great grandmother of San Francisco". His 55-room mansion built in 1913 in Pacific Heights is the current home of novelist Danielle Steel." wiki. Dining fare printed in three columns on center pages beverage list to last page. 12-3/8" x 7-1/2" <br/><br/>Fully priced menu for the Brass Rail located at 7th Ave at 49th St. "An Eating Place of International Fame". Fare includes Turkey Gumbo Soup with Rice $.20; Brass Rail Ham and Cabbage Baked Potato $.85; "Pot of Sanka Coffee or Kaffee Haag" $.25; and many more. The Beverage List suggests a somewhat loose interpretation of Prohibition or else the eager anticipication of its eradication later that year: a typographic box marked "Reserved for Wines and Champagnes" is nestled between the beer list and ginger ales and the beers include Guiness's Stout and several German droughts rather than the typical super-light Anheuser Busch Budweiser varieties manufactured to meet the alcohol level limitations of the time.
