Half morocco binding with marbled boards gilt lettering on spines 5 raised bands top edge of text block gilt colored end papers. Condition of each volume is VERY GOOD: very light wear to covers and spines marbled boards very lightly worn a few lightly worn corners and spine edges light discoloration to some leather surfaces. Spine faded edges of text block very lightly darkened small book plate of David B. Ogden on inside of front cover pages very clean bindings very tight. LF LC- light soiling to end papers. Gaspard- small old worm hole at edge of text block. La France.- light soiling to end papers front hinge starting to crack this text alone from 1910 all others are from 1916-1917. NOTE- 10 volumes all in French all war memoirs pertaining to WW I all bound uniformly color variations in leather marbled boards end papers by Brentano's NY stamped on endpaper. hardcover

French novels in french - condition the same for all unless noted: Bound in fine colored Morrocco some blue some red some green some black to spine and corners over marbled paper on boards. Endpapers marbled too. Books are all tight square sharp-cornered and free of major flaws or markings inside and out other than general minor wear to leather edges. Elaborate gilt geometric decorations title and author on the spines. 182500JT104BParis France 1825. On offer a small financial bond document from Maralux Bordeaux France dated January 1st 1825 however there is a stamp No. 703 states the date as the 10th of Jan. This is a bond made out to Mr. Petiniaud and Mr. Lamy that Misters Bologray and sons paid the sum of 274 francs in Bordeaux. The sum was actually paid out to them on the 13th of January. Small half-moon tear at the bottom with loss of one word some old pin holes but otherwise in good shape. Stunning vignette of a winged messenger. Manuscript. Fair. 48mo - over 3" - 4" tall. Paperback

12100Twenty of the prints by Panajou Frères Bordeaux. 1920s Others from the 1940s. The first 40 prints in good condition and the last three lightly-aged and fair. Each of the 20 Panajou Frères prints 19 landscape and 1 portrait is mounted on a 24 x 30 cm piece of grey card blindstamped with the circular monogramme of 'PANAJOU FRES BORDEAUX'. Depicting an extensive concern with the outside of a large plant by a country river and every stage in the production of plywood from log to storage in the factory. A second group of 20 prints 15 landscape and 5 portrait are unmounted and measure 18 x 24cm. They also show the various stages of production in a more modern factory with railway track and tall chimney with 'DEGDENE' in large letters down its length. The workers depicted in this set of prints are exclusively male. Two of the last three prints all 18 x 23cm by Foto Roos of Helsinki show a forest of tropical trees both before and after logging. The last print shows logs being sent downriver with the caption 'Arrivée d'un radeau à la Compagnie Africaine de Placage Port-Gentil.' Also included are two long 29 x 16cm black and white images of religious illustration on wood panelling apparently in a 1950s style.
