Two theses were published in 1696 by Jesuits of Reims on the doctrinal preeminence of Molina concerning grace and announced it as dogma for the Catholic church. Concerned about the danger these theses posed to the church and the theological university of Reims the Archbishop of Reims thought it wise to study their content and expose it. This theological quarrel illustrates the latent conflict between the Jesuits and the prelates of the Catholic church. The owner's name has been crossed out on the title page.
