He was also the main challenger to Jacobo Arbenz during the 1950 presidential election. Through page 19 there are sepia photographs by Von Gloeden. Beginning on page 21 are postcards by the photographer with notes by Joseph Beuys. Next is a work by Pistoletto of two men embracing. And finally on page 35 begins a series of Von Gloeden's photos and the charcoal drawings Andy Warhol executed in 1978 inspired by the original photos. 59 pages sepia and black and white heavy stock 8.5x9.875" second edition. Cover has darkening and spotting hinge weak in the middle of the book. Baron von Gloeden 1856 –1931 was a German photographer who worked mainly in Italy known for his pastoral nude studies of Sicilian boys.
