Limited edition copy 324 of 325 copies on Velin D'Arches paper. 20 original black and white lithographs all with tissue guards. Albert Marquet was a French painter associated with the Fauvist movement. He initially became one of the Fauve painters and a lifelong friend of Henri Matisse. Marquet subsequently painted in a more naturalistic style primarily landscapes but also several portraits and between 1910 and 1914 several female nude paintings -- which are exemplified in this work in a series of erotic poses singular and coupled. Cahier à spirales de 19,3 x 23,4 cm, un feuillet portant la dédicace, puis 24 pages, trois feuillets non paginés, puis 8 planches cartonnées. Publié à compte d'auteur à Paris vers 1945 et imprimé chez L.I.E.S.A. Imprimeurs. C'est un projet porté par Suzanne Desnoyer, née à Kiev sous le nom de Georgette Anne Hanouche (1901 - 1988 Perpignan) et Marcelle Marquet. Dès 1939, les couples Desnoyer et Marquet séjournent ensemble et Albert Marquet propose à son ami, en 1940, de partager sa maison atelier. (Suza Desnoyer et la femme du peintre François Desnoyer) C'est dans ces années que naît l'idée de cette oeuvre commune sur un récit poétique et très enjoué de Marcelle Marquet. Elles sont aidées dans cette réalisation par l'artiste russe Boris Nikolaevitch Grosser. Ce dernier a été en autre formé dans l'atelier d'Ivan Bilibine à la société d'encouragement des arts de Saint-petersbourg et auprès de Maurice Denis à l'académie Ranson à Paris ; très bel exemplaire (quasi neuf) bien complet des trois feuillets de fin papier de couleur expliquant les différents jeux possibles, des planches de lettres à découper, des planches de lettres à chiffres à colorier.
