This special issue focuses on the development of the early motorcycles including photos of the New York Motorcycle Police Race Meet among Indian Motorcycles in 1910 a Bosch-equipped Reading-Standard Motor Wagonette; the W.H. Wells Indian gold medal winner for London to York race; F.E.Whittler breaking records on his Bosch-equipped Flying Merkel in Playa del Rey CA in 1910; as well as the achievements of Stanley T. Kellogg on his Flying Merkel Light and Excelsior Motorcycles. Of particular interest are the photos of the Speedwell Testing Car towing a Wright Aeroplane in 1910 and Glenn Curtiss in the Inwood-Albany to New York flight using a Bosch magneto.
