First edition numbered 3610 of 4125 total copies softcover with original five colour mylar-protected lithograph dustjacket12.5" x 9.5" 32 x 24.5 cm in a red slipcase 183pp. <br /> Edited by Andre Sauret with French preface contributed by Francis Ponge. <br /> Braque's entire lithographic oeuvre is presented and catalogued by date by Fernand Mourlot. Besides the three original lithographs front and back cardboard dustjacket frontispiece and title page this book contains all of his lithographic output 146 in total from 1921 to 1962 in chronological order. Famous for his Cubist collaborations with Picasso and unfortunately often eclipsed by him Braque continued in this style with a freer application of fragmentation and an intensification of colour creating some wonderful prints along the way.<br /> <br /> Printed at Mourlot Frères this lovely copy of LITHOGRAPHE is in fine condition with only some very slight wear showing on the slipcase. Tan paper-covered slipcase housing a softcover binding with a lithographically illustrated dust jacket over stiff white cardstock wrappers. Dj protected by mylar. This is #3838 from a total limited edition of 4125 copies. The publication is a complete catalogue raisonné of George Braque's lithographs containing 3 original lithographs covers frontispiece and title page and 146 lithographic reproductions in color and b/w. The lithograph's are arranged chronologically and date from 1921-1962. Each of the reproductions is protected by a coated waxpaper guard and contains physical and historical information about the work on the opposite page. Detailed list of works at the back of the book. Text in French. Slipcase with with some light rubbing to extremities and some light stains scratches and smudges. Dj with very minor foxing. Mylar with some small chips at corners. Interior with minor sporadic foxing to a few pages with images almost entirely unaffected clean and bright. Slipcase in very good- covers and interior in overall very good to near fine. "Le Livre" : Lithographie d'interprétation d'après un projet d'illustration de Juan Gris pour le recueil de poèmes de Pierre Reverdy "Au Soleil du Plafond", édité par Tériade en 1955, Très belle épreuve sur Japon ancien dont le tirage n' est seulement que de 40 exemplaires. Dans un superbe encadrement esthétiquement en accord parfait avec l'œuvre. (Feuille : 42,5 x 32,5 cm et sujet : 36,5 x 22,5 cm). Mourlot imprimeur. Tériade édieur (1955). Note historique : conçu dès 1920 par le poète et le peintre et soutenu par Léonce Rosenberg, le projet d'édition sera interrompu par l'inaction du marchand d'art puis la disparition de Juan Gris en 1927. C'est finalement Tériade qui reprendra le manuscrit complet de Reverdy, 20 poèmes illustrés de 11 lithographies en couleurs reprenant au plus près les compositions originales du peintre cubiste. Le Moulin à Café étant la première de l'album.
