18573000433Carlisle 1857. Book. Good. Full-Leather. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. pp viii 124 with folded plate. Printed by Charles Thurnam and Sons. Signatures in four hands on the inside front cover first dated 1857 or possibly 1867 last 1882 of whom at least two seem to have been of serving officers so this copy was presumably passed down over the years. The cover looks to be bespoke there is no label or wording - the early signature on the inside front cover suggests that it is contemporary - certainly early. The binding has been recently repaired there are marks around the hinges from the tape that had previously held the copy together otherwise it is internally very good save for a tear to the folded plate - little loss. The cover is in good condition. Scarce. Hardcover
