An interesting substantial letter to an unnamed recipient "Doctor" concerning a planned exhibition of his works in Prague. KubÃn confirms his enthusiasm inquires about the catalog and describes the works available for potential loan requesting further information about the size of the exhibition space in order to better select the artworks. KubÃn 1883-1969 was a Czech and French painter graphic artist and sculptor of international renown. Along with Emil Filla and Bohumil KubaÅ¡ta he was a member of the expressionist Osma group 1907-1908 and in 1913 exhibited in Herwarth Walden's "Erster Deutscher Herbstsalon." After emigrating to France in 1912 his work was primarily associated with Impressionism and he repeatedly exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants. He was a close friend of Pablo Picasso and notably influenced by van Gogh and Gauguin. unknown books
