The old man is standing in the center with his left hand raised and the right arm towards the ground. Some blood is dropping out of his forearm. A bearded man on the left is drying Seneca's skin. The philosopher is standing on a basin. Lettered in lower margin with production details and title: "Petr. Paul Rubbens pinxit" and "A. Voet iunior sc Corn. Galle excudit". Text in squared brackets added in brown ink after reworking of plate.
