Una di esse - l'Angelus Novus - fu acquistato da Walter Benjamin che ne fece la figura protagonista della sua "IX tesi di filosofia della storia" e in seguito un suo vero e proprio alter ego. L'"Angelus" è forse da considerarsi una delle maggiori icone del XX secolo e una delle immagini più diffuse e fortunate.
