First edition hardcover in beige cloth and gold gilt lettering 12 3/4 x 10" 32 x 25 cm with dust jacket 136pp. <br /> A special number of the XXe siecle Art series published under the direction of G. di San Lazzaro and printed in Italy. This tribute contains twenty-two colour reproductions and one hundred and thirty-eight in black and white. <br /> Most noteworthy are the four original lithographs on Arches vellum by Kandinsky one of which is in colour. This book contains a complete overview of Kandinsky's oeuvre accompanied by numerous essays in French from colleagues and friends including Max Deutsch Joan Miro Pierre Boulez and many others. <br /> This copy is still crisp and in fine condition the dust jacket alone showing some very light wear and scratches. A wonderful hommage in image and print to the master with the notable addition of four original lithographs! XXe siecle unknown
