84055Paris Devambez 1916. 115 x 80 cm La Journée serbe Plakat zur Unterstützung der Serben im Kriegsgebiet.- Der Serbienfeldzug im Ersten Weltkrieg wurde von den Mittelmächten nach zwei Monaten im Herbst 1915 erfolgreich beendet. Ein Jahr zuvor war der Serbienfeldzug 1914 der österreichisch-ungarischen Armee gegen das Königreich Serbien gescheitert. Am 6. Oktober 1915 begann mit massiver deutscher Hilfe der neue Feldzug am 14. Oktober griff auch das durch Geheimverhandlungen als Verbündeter gewonnene Zarentum Bulgarien in den Krieg gegen Serbien ein und bedrohte den Gegner von Osten her. Das strategische Kriegsziel der Angreifer war es die direkte Landverbindung zum verbündeten Osmanischen Reich zu öffnen Serbien zu besetzen und als Kriegsgegner auszuschalten. Den Serben stand eine erhebliche Übermacht gegenüber die auch durch die Landung von Entente-Truppen bei Saloniki nicht ausgeglichen werden konnte. Nach dem Fall von Belgrad 9. Oktober und Ni 5. November zogen sich die Reste der serbischen Armee in die albanischen und montenegrinischen Berge zurück; sie kam nach ihrer Neuformierung auf Korfu später an der neu entstandenen Front in Makedonien wieder zum Einsatz. Die Fortsetzung des Feldzuges über die Grenze Makedoniens hinweg wurde von der deutschen Heeresleitung unter General von Falkenhayn wegen der griechischen Neutralität Anfang Dezember 1915 untersagt. 010 Paris, Devambez, 1916 unknown
