The story concerns princes in exile hopping from one grand hostelry to another a louche lifestyle brought on by the overturning of the old order by the First World War and the Nouveau Riches and gold-digging Flappers they encounter in the new age of faster automobiles and the like. The illustrations glamorize the new silhouette and streamlined fashions and capture the rage for the fox trot and tango and as always. As always Brunelleschi shows an affinity for the exotic and a kind of Orientalism. Original wraps are bound in to lovely half-morocco binding. Minor light foxing on the fore-edge.
