16-5158Château d'Anet is a château near Dreux in the Eure-et-Loir department : 18the & 19th Centuries. The collection includes 5 large format engravings published by A. Lévy - 41 x 31 cm. and 41 x 61 cm. very rare; 2 drawings dated 1838; 4pp manuscript on the history of the owners; thirteen 18th & 19th Century engravings and lithographs. Considered as a jewel of the French Renaissance and a mecca of art Anet Castle was built in 1548 by King Henry II to his mistress Diane de Poitiers. The greatest artists of the time involved in its construction which include Philibert de l'Orme architect and Renaissance humanist known for his anti Italianism and interpretation of antiquity. The field includes the magnificent Chateau de Diane where there is remaining a wing only the Greek cross Chapel Royal masterpiece of originality with its checkerboard trompe l'oeil the triumphal gate which is embedded in the curious clock that shows the phases of the Moon and the funeral chapel where Diane rests again since 29 May 2010.Le château d’Anet construit pour la belle Diane par Henri II était orné d’une fontaine la représentant sous la forme d’une déesse. Cette statue symbolise les tensions artistiques de l’époque tiraillée entre le maniérisme italien de Fontainebleau et l’affirmation du classicisme français.:Christian Joschke historien d’art.Des sculptures du château d’Anet construit par Henri II pour Diane de Poitiers il ne reste guère que ce qu’Alexandre Lenoir a pu sauver en 1804 pour son musée des Monuments français installé à Paris au couvent des Petits-Augustins. Démantelé endommagé par la vague iconoclaste de 1795 le château fut vendu et partiellement démoli par son acheteur à l’aide d’explosifs avant d’être abandonné. Mais la célèbre statue de Diane rapatriée aux Petits-Augustins puis léguée au Louvre demeure. Il volume presenta una affascinante raccolta di 42 tavole su cartoncino precedute da un foglio bianco disegnate e inc. su acciaio dai F.lli Rouargue: sono vedute delle più pittoresche città dell'Italia Settentrionale Centro- Meridionale e della Sicilia incluse 6 colorate a mano che raffigurano tipici "mestieri" dell'epoca con sullo sfondo la città di riferimento. In questa lussuosa edizione le tavole sono presentate con margini molto ampi ma nel 1856 in formato ridotto avevano adornato la celebre opera di de Musset Voyage pittoresque en Italie.Esemplare ben conservato. Portada y 40 láminas grabadas al acero 11 de ellas coloreadas a mano en la época todas dibujadas por Emilio y Adolfo Reoargue y grabadas por ellos mismos a excepción de tres láminas grabadas por Ed. Willmann e impresas en París por F. Chardon. Encuadernación original en piel chagrín burdeos de grano gordo estampada en oro en el plano superior lomera cuajada de dorados cabeza y cortes también dorados. Primera edición de esta rara serie de 40 láminas costumbristas y monumentales de España según los dibujos de los hermanos Rouargue. Muchas de estas láminas en total 36 habían aparecido a menor tamaño en el famoso <em>Voyage pittoresque en Espagne</em> de Emilio Beguin editado en 1850; el mismo impresor decide publicar un bello<em> Album de España</em> utilizando las láminas dibujadas y grabadas por Emilio y Adolfo Rouargue para ilustrar la obra de Beguin pero a mucho mayor tamaño y añadiendo 4 nuevas láminas que no habían aparecido antes. Las láminas representan diferentes villas ciudades y monumentos de España una de Lisboa y una de la Habana así como diferentes escenas de tipos costumbristas. En total 40 láminas de las que 11 están coloreadas originalmente. Los grabados están tirados al acero e impresos sobre fuerte papel cartulina y a grandes márgenes. La impresión es magnífica y es realmente escasa en el mercado probablemente debieron tirarse muy pocos ejemplares de esta lujosa publicación. Muy buen ejemplar vestido con su encuadernación original conservando todos sus márgenes y con la impresión nítida y fresca; las láminas por lo general muy limpias dos o tres de ellas con ligeros puntos de óxido ocasional el resto limpio y en perfecto estado.
