Vellum-backed papercovered boards with text printed in two columns and columns numbered instead of pages. Vellum toned and stained binding wear and edgewear most hinges and one gutter split neatly strengthened one hinge with an older tape repair. A couple of neat marginal notes in ink and one volume with three leaves témoin improper trimming leaving a corner folded with slightly larger margins there. The vellum has dried and the bindings are a bit tender but altogether an about very good set. <br/><br/>The final edition of the French bibliographer Brunet's magnum opus reprinted in Berlin. It summarized information from great 18th century French auctions including those of the libraries of M. Louis-Jean Gaignat 1769 M. the Comte de Lauraguais 1770 M. Jean de La Leu 1775 as well as that of M. Louis-C�sar de La Baume Le Blanc Duc de La Valli�re 1783-84 the famous sale held at the H�tel de Bullion 1785 and many others. Each entry often consists of a brief bibliographical description of the book commentary on rarity or quality where it appeared in famous sales and sale prices.
