Volume III of a three-volume set in a half morocco binding. An extensive and detailed history of the United States written by the English journalist and author Edmund Ollier who also wrote 'Cassell's Illustrated History of the Russo-Turkish War' and 'Cassell's Illustrated History of the War between France and Germany'. This work explores the history of the colonisation of the United States right up to the turn of the twentieth century. Illustrated profusely with both full page and in-text engravings. Undated dated from a copy held at the University of Cambridge Libraries. In a half morocco binding. Externally sound with rubbing to the extremities joints and spine meaning that some small losses of leather. Leather to the front joint has split. Front hinge is strained but held firmly by three cords. Internally firmly bound. Pages are age toned to the perimeters but generally clean with the occasional handling mark.
