The work illustrates both helpful medicinaland decorative plants. Blunt says "Perhaps the most impressive French botanical work of the pe riod". The peach tree is a deciduous tree native to China where it was first cultivated. It bears an edible juicy fruit called a peach. It was then cultivated in Persia and then transplanted to Europe. Size: 455 x 335 mm. Copperplate engraving with original wash colour. Good condition. unknown
