Ces compositions accompagnent 450 citations d'une soixantaine de personnalits (auteurs, d'humoristes et hommes clbres): Beaumarchais, Franoise Sagan, Voltaire, Georges Courteline, Francis Blanche, Yvan Audouard, Frdric Dard, Alphonse Daudet, Albert Camus, Jules Renard, Rivarol, Georges Clemenceau, Lautaud, Georges Feydeau, Alphonse Karr, Jean Anouilh, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Mazarin, Charles de Gaulle, Tristan Bernard, Pierre Desproges, Sacha Guitry, Jean Yanne, Jacques Prvert, Franois Mitterrand, Michel Audiard, Louis de Funs, etc. La majorit des illustrations sont des portraits de ces personnalits. Tirage limit 2.039 exemplaires numrots sur vlin de Rives. Un des 29 premiers exemplaires, seuls comporter un grand dessin original sign de Jacky Redon et tre accompagns d'une suite part des 38 illustrations (celles sur double page et pleine page en couleurs, et les 7 en noir) runies non plies dans un grand portefeuille spar. Le prsent dessin original excut la mine de plomb sur double page, reprsente Alexandre Dumas sous le titre Dumas, le mousquetaire en cuisine, mentionn in fine dans le Gnrique du livre (table des illustrations) et a t reproduit sur double page dans le livre. Le caricaturiste Jacky Redon est n le 18 dcembre 1946 Oullins dans la banlieue lyonnaise. C'est en 1970 qu'il publie sa premire caricature (Jean Giono) dans Le Figaro littraire. Un peu plus tard, prsent Goscinny, il dessine pour le journal Pilote, commence au Figaro une longue collaboration qui durera prs de 40 ans, puis avec Le Point (depuis le numro zro jusque dans les annes 80), le Midi olympique (des caricatures de rugbymen, videmment), Valeurs actuelles. Il remplace dans Les Echos le dessinateur Morchoisne lorsqu'il est en vacances. Jacky Redon est lauteur de nombreux livres, pochettes de disques et affiches, a particip de beaucoup de festivals de dessins et a expos rgulirement Paris et en province.
