Le vedute degli interni ed esterni del teatro settecentesco e di quello rifatto; i cartelloni ed i frontespizi dei libretti di alcune significative opere, tra cui: "I Vespri Siciliani", "Otello", "La Didone abbandonata", "La Wally", "L'Arsace", "Il Tancredi", "Boheme", "Manon Lescaut". Il nuovo Teatro Regio venne inaugurato il 10 aprile 1973 con "I Vespri siciliani" di Verdi, che videro la prima e unica regia di Maria Callas e Giuseppe Di Stefano. La direzione d'orchestra fu affidata a Vittorio Gui, le scene e i costumi al noto pittore Aligi Sassu, la coreografia a Serge Lifar. Sin dal 1933, alla sua prima presenza alle Triennali di Milano, Piero Fornasetti si dedicò alla creazione di foulard di seta stampata. Tra i massimi designer degli anni Cinquanta, fu anche pittore, scultore scenografo. This is a very good 5 volume hardcover set (complete) three volumes with dustwrappers, two without. All volumes very clean inside, no marks. The off white dustwrappers are tanned and have a few stains to the spine of the last volume only and several closed edge tears. Two volumes have faint tan stains to top page-edge not visible internally. All text in Russian. The set is edited by V. F. Ryndin. All drawings by V.I. Kozlinskii. Additional editing and text by Elena Kurbatova and Elizaveta Berman. This set covers Russian costume design for staged productions from 1750 to 1917. In other words from the beginning of Russian drama to the Russian Revolution. All volumes are illustrated with drawings similar to fashion drawings in French and German periodicals from the late 19th century. All volumes have some color drawings as well as black & white. All volumes also have some technical details to guide the costume designers making period costumes: some of the illustrations are like pattern designs for tailors. A spectacular resource. 12" high X 9" wide, 170 & 182 & 182 & 182 & 222 pages. The volumes were all published between 1960 and 1972. Widely considered as the best assessment of modern Danish furniture available in English and are beautifully illustrated with historic photographs and new photographs of surviving pieces. Many of the photographs of some of the best pieces in museums and public buildings in Copenhagen appear to have been taken specifically for the book. Full-page photographs are set out facing reproductions of original presentation or technical drawings. Karlsen was an architect who worked with Mogens Koch, to whom the volumes are dedicated, and he approaches the subject through his hands-on experience as a furniture designer. The volumes provide a very readable and a very good broad chronological overview but what makes them invaluable is the addition of detailed and critical assessments of the most important and influential examples of chairs, tables and storage furniture produced through the century.

Om. Rosa Sutzkever was one of the best-known artists of Vilna, and had trained at the Art Academy there (Bogen, 1991) and was part of Yung Vilna. Yung-Vilne (Young Vilna) , was a Yiddish literary group, introduced in the daily Vilner Tog in 1929 with the headline: Young Vilna Marches into Yiddish Literature. It aroused excitement through its miscellanies (Yung-Vilne, 193436) , its contributions to local and international Yiddish journals, and individual books of verse and fiction. Principal members included poets Chaim Grade , Shimshon Kahan, Peretz Miransky, Abraham Sutzkever , Elkhanan Wogler, and Leyzer Wolf , prose writers Shmerke Kaczerginski and Moyshe Levin, and artists Bentsie Mikhtom and Rokhl Sutzkever. Dozens more were associated with the group, whose members were united by generation, place, a shared humanistic orientation, and the encouragement of local intellectuals like Zalman Rejzen and Max Weinreich . A Yung-Vilne evening in the Vilna ghetto, the participation of several members in the partisan underground, and the accomplishments of Grade and Sutzkever as leading postwar Yiddish writers assure that Yung-Vilne will be remembered as one of the great incubators of Jewish creativity in interwar Poland (Lipzin & Cammy, 2007) . Kupreianov was a Soviet graphic artist born in 1894, in the Polish People?s Republic; died July 29, 1933, in Moscow. "In 1910, Kupreianov studied in St. Petersburg with A. P. Ostroumova-Lebedeva and in the workshops of D. N. Kardovskii and K. S. Petrov-Vodkin. He was a member of the Society of Easel Painters and the Four Arts group. From 1922 to 1930 he was a professor at the Moscow Vkhutemas-Vkhutein, and from 1930 to 1933 he taught at the Moscow Institute of Printing. Most of Kupreianov?s early works are wood engravings, such as Armored Cars (1918) and The Cruiser Aurora (1923), imbued with revolutionary romanticism. His drawings of the 1920?s and 1930?s on industrial subjects reflect a keen perception and a sense of the rhythm and joy of labor. Emotional immediacy and an expressive sketch are combined with a precise rendering of objects in the series Railroad Tracks (india ink, 1927, Tret?iakov Gallery) and Fishing Season (watercolor, 1930-31, Tret?iakov Gallery and the A.
