Quando l'organismo è artificialmente obbligato ad aumentare i meccanismi che producono e disperdono il calore, lo stress che ne deriva porta disagio, influendo negativamente sulle performatività dell'individuo. La temperatura più importante per il comfort termico è quella detta temperatura operativa, che tiene conto sia della temperatura dell'aria che della temperatura radiante, o le due letture che determinano la quantità di calore scambiato dal corpo umano per convezione e radiazione. Anche l'umidità relativa, insieme alla pressione dell'aria e alla velocità esercitano una notevole influenza, governando la dispersione che si verifica attraverso l'evaporazione che accompagna la respirazione e la traspirazione. In realtà sarebbe più corretto parlare di condizioni termoigrometriche relative alle temperature, anche se in questo studio il focus sarà centrato sul calore.

Il crée à Venise vers 1899 une entreprise de textile afin qu'il dessine lui même des motifs et fait de surprenantes découvertes techniques. A l'image de Venise, il avait la capacité d'assimiler les cultures les plus diverses. Et ce talent, il ne l'utilisa pas pour les confondre ou les dissoudre dans un melting pot sans caractère et sans nom. Bien au contraire, il sut apprécier, méditer et assimiler ce qu'elles avaient de plus noble et de plus beau. C'est ainsi que le sens artistique de Mariano Fortuny a pu recréer des oeuvres originales qui ont si bien su aider ses contemporains à retrouver la beauté oubliée. Une beauté retrouvée qui évoquait avec légèreté la splendeur du passé de Venise.
