This is a very good hardcover copy of the first edition, with just light wear. Red cloth covers fine, spine title in gilt dulled, spine faded and a few small stains (minor). Very clean inside, but a little spotting here and there, as is typical with this soft acidic paper. Plates fairly clean, but also lightly spotted. Illustrated in black & white. 4to, 9.5" high X 6.5" wide, 151 pages. This book will be securely packed and shipped with tracking.

Hint of sunning to spine faint finger-soil to covers with light wear to extremities and a faint vertical crease toward left edge of front wrapper; some transfer from the ink inscription onto the opposing page; Very Good. <br /> <br /> An attractive collection of Whalen's poems several of them originally published in the pages of Yugen Foot Combustion Galley Sail and Jabberwock produced by Dave Haselwood's Auerhahn Press. Brautigan met Sherry Vetter at an Irish pub in North Beach early in 1970. He was instantly smitten and began a two-week courtship by phone. "Richard for his part tutored Sherry in his literary preferences trying to influence her reading tastes. He introduced her to the work of McClure Snyder and Creeley and to classic writers "he thought were really great like Baudelaire and Sappho." He recited poetry to her. Vetter recalled Phil Whalen's poem "Three Variations All About Love" a personal favorite" Hjortsberg Jubilee Hitchhiker p.420. This is a very good copy in a plastic comb binding (intact), stiff paper covers printed in color with Weyerhaeuser paper sample names: 'Weycroft', 'Louvain', 'Carousel', 'Kashmir', 'Gainsborough', etc. No date but ca. 1970's. Each of the 10 paper sample sections has a color printed title page with the different paper weights and characteristics available in that sample, followed by a number of blank sheets in different colors that are available with that sample. A typical early to mid 1970's Weyerhaeuser trade catalog. 11" high X 10" wide. All printing in offset lithography. Publisher's 'Complimentary Copy' business reply card laid in. Head of spine frayed extremities bruised some staining. Edges toned. Uneven offsetting to endpapers inscribed in black ink to ffep: "Fred E. Weisgal 2/6/55" with his monochrome Thomas Paine-quoting ex libris pasted below. Toned else clean and tight. In Rockwell Kent's strikingly sorrowful dust jacket: toned and spotted large losses joints delicate and reinforced with amateur taping to reverse. Good/ good- A well-handled association copy of the American playwright's account of the highly divisive case of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg from the library of prominent Baltimore civil rights attorney and jazz musician Fred E. Weisgal. John Wexley is perhaps best known for co-writing the screenplay for the James Cagney vehicle Angels with Dirty Faces 1938 and his prison drama The Last Mile 1930. Fred E. Weisgal 1919-1991 began his legal career in Baltimore in 1947 when he fought and won a suit to admit black students to the Maryland Institute art school now Maryland Institute College of Art. He subsequently joined the American Civil Liberties Union ACLU and represented a number of significant civil rights cases before emigrating to Israel in 1969. Dai primi originalissimi gioielli venduti sulle bancarelle di Portobello Road al vestito realizzato da sola per il primo matrimonio con Derek Westwood e la nascita del figlio Benjamin. Dalla separazione consensuale alla turbolenta relazione con Malcolm McLaren, futuro manager dei Sex Pistols, da cui nasce il secondo figlio Joseph Corré. Per arrivare all'apertura del primo negozio su King's Road, "Let it Rock", destinato a cambiare diversi nomi e stili fino all'attuale "Worlds End". Dall'approdo al "made in Italy" grazie alla collaborazione con Carlo D'Amario alla relazione platonica e culturale con lo storico dell'arte Gary Ness. Fino al secondo matrimonio "clandestino" con Andreas Kronthaler, suo giovanissimo e geniale studente di moda austriaco, nel 1992. Se negli anni Settanta la Westwood viene riconosciuta come l'ideatrice del look punk, con creazioni stravaganti e provocatorie, negli anni Ottanta i suoi modelli non traggono più ispirazione soltanto dalla moda di strada giovanile, ma da tradizione e tecnica. La sua ricerca prende coltissimi spunti dalla storia del costume ed esplora tutte le epoche. Nel nuovo millennio s'impone poi l'impegno sociale e politico come attivista per organizzazioni ambientaliste e per i diritti umani e civili e il personale contributo grazie alla campagna "Rivoluzione Climatica" e al manifesto Active Resistance to Propaganda.
