Hardcover, 192 pagina's, English, 320 x 240 mm, perfect copy, . ISBN 9789058565365. Xavier Lust is certainly one of the most relevant characters on the contemporary design scene. His distinct and essential approach to design, his ingenious and refined touch, and his ability to synthesise clearly imply a special talent. The great John Keats wrote: A thing of beauty is a joy forever; its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness . For Xavier Lust, dedication to beauty is the answer to eternity and this forever is actually built everyday through constant work, research and curiosity. Always focused on innovation and research, specifically tension and induced motion, he likes to experiment, explore and discover the natural transformations of materials. On the strength of his experience with metal, he challenges all kind of materials, challenging himself too in the process. Xavier Lust pushes the boundaries of technical possibilities while making a statement with each of his pieces and overriding preconceived ideas. Design Stories aims to give a wide sense of Lust's work in the different fields of design from creation to production to final destination.
Bound, hardcover illustrated in colours, 260 x 210 x 20 mm., 160 pp., illustrations in b/w and in colours. ISBN 9789058562111. In Belgium, he has been known since the 1990s for his furniture designs in metal and the decoration of private and commercial spaces. Furthermore, Xavier Lust very quickly made his appearance in the private circles of the international edition. Since 'Le Banc', which was published by MDF Italia, he has been working with this publisher, but also with globally renowned brands such as De Padova, Driade, Moroso and Extremis. In 2003, Lust received the Henry van de Velde Prize for Young Talent from VIZO. His furniture is recognizable by its clean lines. He (re)forms metal surfaces, which opens up new perspectives for street furniture, table art, bathrooms, lighting, the covering of electrical products? His talent lies in the way of combining creativity on paper and simulation in 3D with a subtle approach in practice.
