Included are six vintage black-and-white reference still photographs from the film. <br/><br/>Bob Willoughby 1927-2009 studied with Saul Bass at the Kann Institute of Art in Los Angeles worked as a photographer for magazines such as "Life" "Look" and "Harper's Bazaar" and as a set photographer for every major studio documenting some of most important films of the era and creating intimate portraits of some of Hollywood's greatest celebrities. <br/><br/>Willoughby moved his family to County Cork Ireland in 1972 working on only a handful of films through the late 1970s and early 1980s this was one of his final films though he would continue to photograph exhibit and publish books for the remainder of his life. <br/><br/>Based on Evelyn Anthony's 1971 novel about a woman on holiday in the Caribbean who meets a handsome Russian. Judith Farrow Andrews meets Feodor Sverdlov Sharif and together they visit all the beautiful spots on the island but Judith's ties to the British government and Feodor's to the Russian government cause problems for their romance. An underrated but serious look at espionage in the Cold War. <br/><br/>Set in Barbardos and shot on location there and in London and Paris. <br/><br/>Yellow titled wrappers marked copy No. 122. Griffith production directed by Wallace McCutcheon titled either the same as the novel or "When Knights were Bold" now lost and once in 1922 by William Randolph Hearst's company Cosmopolitan Productions as a vehicle for Hearst's mistress Marion Davies directed by Robert Vignola.<br/><br/>Released in England under the same title as the book and in the US as "The Sword and the Rose" this was Disney's third British production following "Treasure Island" 1950 and "The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men" 1952.<br/><br/>The story of Mary Tudor Glynis Johns sister of King Henry VIII James Robertson Justice and her struggle not to married off to the French King Louis XII Jean Mercure.<br/><br/>Broadcast in 1955 on the Disneyland television show in two parts under the title "When Knighthood was in Flower."<br/><br/>Set in and shot on location in England. <br/><br/>8 x 11 inches. The survivors come across a young woman who subsequently becomes the love interest of the two brothers. Together the family transforms the island into a small paradise living harmoniously with its numerous exotic species and fending off pirates when necessary. A version of the film was produced by RKO Pictures in the 1940s which attracted the interest of Walt Disney and Bill Anderson who later produced the 1960 remake.
