1936620642New York: Street & Smith 1936. Softcover. Very Good. Magazine. Cover by Howard V. Brown. Perfect bound in wrappers. Stain along bottom edge and spine of rear wrap stain on bottom edge very good. This issue features stories from Raymond Z. Gallun Murray Leinster Douglas Drew Donald Wandrei and more. Also includes a young 13 year old Harry Warner Jr.'s first letter of comment. Just two years later in 1938 Warner who would later become admired by fans for his letter writings would go on to publish the fanzine Spaceways. He followed it with Horizons in 1939 which ran for 64 consecutive years as part of the Fantasy Amateur Press Association FAPA mailing with Warner only ever missing two mailings. One-time fan Roger Ebert once wrote: "Locs letters of comment were the currency of payment for fanzine contributors; you wrote and in the next issue got to read about what you had written. Today I can see my name on a full-page ad for a movie with disinterest but what Harry Warner or Buck Coulson had to say about me — well that was important. Street & Smith unknown

FIRST EDITION LIMITED to only 100 copies printed hand numbered. 8vo in the original ivory paper-covered boards the upper cover with printed tipped-on label 10ff unpaginated. A very good copy internally fine. The white paper boards with some mild darkening a little wear at the corners the paper split and a bit chipped at the spine panel. ONE OF ONLY ONE-HUNDRED COPIES PRINTED. The printing was done in May of 1913 at the Marion Press on very fine handmade paper which remains fresh and bright. The essay was printed from Warner's original manuscript with the sanction of his widow. It is believed that it was never published prior to this printing of 1913.
