The business was established in 1860 in New York by Wyllys H. Warner and passed under the control of Bates and Johnson in 1880. The company's self-feeding boiler was patented in February of 1883 and later that same year was installed as part of its steam-heating system in the iconic Manhattan Company and Merchants' Bank Building on Wall Street. 1875724Chicago: Warner & Beers 1875. 17 x 14 1/2 inches. Very good condition. This map is a period original lithograph that was hand colored at the time of publication. The states are composed to form a regional context for inclusion in a county atlas. The map is handsomely appointed with a pastel color scheme that designates individual counties. Each county is named. The railroad network was quite comprehensive in 1875 and is nicely selected on the map. Lakes superior and Michigan are shown in their entirety. Lake Huron is partially shown. This is a fine example of the mapmakers art during the last half of the 18th century. Warner & Beers unknown
