Red page edges black endpapers 176 pages.</p><p>Personal essays in the outdoors of the Adirondacks including his most famous ones <em>How I Killed a Bear A Fight with a Trout </em>and <em>A Hunting of Deer</em>. The stories are told with humor social satire and with admiration and empathy for wildlife.</p><p>Condition is Very Good: Mild bumping and wear to the covers. There is a penciled name and the date 1878 one the front blank page in front of the title page else clean and unmarked. The front free endpaper is starting otherwise all pages are intact and the binding is strong.</p><p>Charles Dudley Warner 1829-1900 was an American essayist novelist and friend of Mark Twain with whom he co-authored the novel <em>The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today.</em>Warner was a prolific writer who published about 15 volumes of his own standalone works during his lifetime - novels travel books biographies and essays and memoirs.
