Hardcover original marbled paper cover boards half bound in leather with red and black labels to spine. Exterior shows scuffing and soiling with cracking in wear to the leather. Internal binding is good no hinge issues nothing torn or loose. Pages are toned due to age and foxing and spotting is present throughout. Front hinge is starting to open in the center. Previous owners names are written in several areas it appears as book was passed down from father to son with the front and rear pastedowns showing the name R. S. Brown - May 1886 in the first end page shows the name C. L. Brown. In addition the original owner signed 'Brown" twice on the title page. No other handwriting found in the book.
