Jung kommt um bei ihm eine Psychotherapie zu beginnen. Daraus entsteht ein äußerst farbiges Lebensbild ab 1936 über die Kriegszeit hinweg bis 1956. Sie beschreibt wie C. G. Jung ihr half die schwierige Zeit der Ablösung von ihrer Herkunftsfamilie zu bestehen um schließlich nach ihrer Heirat mit einem Amerikaner die Therapiezeit zu beenden. Wir erhalten nicht nur Einblick in intime und subtile gemeinsame Erfahrungen während der Therapie sondern auch Reflexionen über die Kriegszeit über Nazideutschland und Jungs spontane Aussagen über den Nationalsozialismus und Hitler. Es ist ein lebendiges Zeugnis über Jungs klare kritische Haltung gegenüber der Nazi-Ideologie die viele damals entstandene Verdächtigungen gegen ihn als falsch entlarven. Hedy Wyss liess mit ihrem Text das vermutlich lebendigste persönlichste biografische Bild von C. G. Jung das je geschrieben wurde entstehen. Daniel Läderach kommentiert den Text aus Sicht der Analytischen Psychologie und Werner A. Disler analysiert das Übertragungs- und Gegenübertragungsgeschehen aus psychoanalytisch-selbstpsychologischer Sicht. .Man kommt dabei nicht nur Hedy Alma Wyss sehr nahe sondern erhält auch ein berührbares Bild von Jung. Hier ist er keine Ikone hier ist er Mensch. Einerseits mit Schwachstellen die sich zuallererst darin zeigen dass er sich überhaupt auf eine Liaison mit einer Patientin einließ. Andererseits gibt es auch einige biografische Korrekturen die zu seinen Gunsten ausfallen. Es zeigt sich auf den Spuren von Jung zu sein hat mitnichten etwas Antiquiertes.
