brossura Il libro di Rut pone ancora diverse domande, specialmente circa l'autore, l'epoca di scrittura, lo scopo, il genere letterario e la teologia proposta. Ma, nonostante le lunghe discussioni che sono state condotte fino a questo momento, ancora non hanno ricevuto una risposta. Rut è un libro breve (ottantacinque versetti in tutto!), eppure è un testo di indubbio interesse. Intrigante può essere considerata già la sua duplice collocazione, rispettivamente fra i libri storici, nella tradizione cattolica, e fra i testi «sapienziali» in quella ebraica. Questo è dunque il primo interrogativo. Come leggere e interpretare questo rotolo? L'autrice propone una lettura del libro che valorizzi soprattutto il fenomeno dell'intertestualità, cioè il dialogo tra Rut e numerosi altri testi biblici. Data la sua brevità, l'autrice ha potuto condurre un'indagine dettagliata del testo biblico, analizzandone la struttura e offrendone un'esegesi il più possibile approfondita. Nella terza parte vengono affrontate questioni di natura teologica e si propone una storia dell'interpretazione del rotolo, almeno nei suoi elementi fondamentali, come pure un'apertura verso la «storia degli effetti » che il libro ha generato e che ancora si sta costruendo.
