Behind is the portico of St. Pauls Covent Garden. A third sailor sits tipsily on the roof smoking; he says: "Come Messmates heave a head". Two sailors wear striped trousers the third a short petticoat and a large fur cap. Behind r. is the portico of St. Paul's Covent Garden with two men one a Jew the other a tipsy parson. Sml. plate number within top right border "121". Does not include the publication line of "Pubd. by T. Tegg III Cheapside Decr 1. 1812" within the image. Very nice bright original color. 34.5 x 25 cm platemark. A little unevenly trimmed at the bottom edge just into plate mark. Slightly dark mark at top border but overall in very good condition.
