This is a sequel to the author's other work titled "How the Other Half Lives" and he tells how far we have come and how. The author discusses the slum areas and how they became slums about immigration the tenements the people lived in the meals they could have at 15 cents the cost of one months rent for a dollar or less. He wrote much on the New York street gangs and the dangerous hours and which streets to avoid during that time. This was New York and how life was lived on the other side of the tracks. An accurate description of the poor and of course the belligerent youth of the period.
