1961905T80London: W. H. Allen 1961. First edition. Cloth. Fine/Very Good. 8" by 5.5". None. A mart first edition of this novel on the sordid reality of prostitution from Rodney Garland. First edition. The women in this novel are in business for a profit and by this point it seems that money is the only consideration. This novel following a group of prostitutes offers a cleverly constructed plot subtle characterisation and a brilliantly conceived background with a good measure of humour. Written by Adam de Hegedus a Hungarian author who came to England in 1927 and adopted the pseudonym Rodney Garland. In the original red cloth binding. Externally excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with light wear and the odd small closed tear to the extremities. Minor sunning to the spine and the odd small mark to the panels. Internally firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Fine W. H. Allen hardcover
