Produced in 1845. This was produced in two forms the more common is with black and white illustrations. The deluxe version which is clearly much scarcer although we can find no limitation has hand coloured lithographs. A beautifully clean example with excellent colouring and just a touch of darkening to the page edges. A couple of small foxing spots to the margins. The only flaw is that the printing or trimming is at a slight angle to the page. See photograph. A lovely copy. Although some prints from this album claim the year 1850 as publication FirstSearch / Worldcat states that it was printed in 1845. Image is 18cm x 22cm. Sheet is 25cm x 33.5cm. . Première édition. Raised By A Family Who Wished Him To Attend A Polytechnic School He Instead Attended Painting Workshops By Nicolas Charlet And Paul Delaroche And Began Work As A Cartoonist Taking On The Pseudonym "Cham". In 1839 He Published His First Book Monsieur Lajaunisse Which Began A Career That Would Span 40000 Drawings. In 1843 He Began To Be Published In Newspapers Like Le Charivari Whose Staff He Was On For Thirty Years. Later Works Included Proudhon En Voyage And Histoire Comique De L'assemblée Nationale. Florey worked as assistant director to Josef von Sternberg Frank Borzage and Victor Fleming before making his feature directing debut in 1926. He turned out more than 50 movies over the next 23 years from the first Marx Brothers movie "The Cocoanuts" 1929 to horror movies such as "Murders in the Rue Morgue" 1932 starring Bela Lugosi to skillful low-budget crime programmers like "The Crooked Way" 1949. Paris 1875 11.50 x 17 cm une feuille Affectionate autograph letter signed one and a half pages 32 lines from Cham addressed to his friend Alexandre Dumas fils thanking him fraternally for the fruitful administrative steps undertaken by the latter in favor of obtaining the ribbon of the Legion of Honor for his fellow caricaturist: In this missive filled with surprised modesty and discretion Cham shows himself to be both proud and gently mocking of decorations. He never ceases to praise the affection and gratitude he feels for his friend. ""Ce 11 Fev. 1875 Mon cher ami C'est atroce ! Me voilà décoré ! Jusqu'à la fin de mes jours ! et c'est de votre faute !
