A nice copy of a handsomely printed volume. $2500. Second and final edition. Early game and land laws record the earliest attempts to preserve the environment. First published in 1560 Meurer and Spangenberg's compilation offers a thorough overview of land-use fishing and hunting laws as they stood in the states of the Holy Roman Empire during the mid-sixteenth century. The first edition is considerably shorter than the second containing 100 leaves. Both editions are scarce in North America. OCLC locates 2 copies of the first edition at Columbia Law School and Yale University and 1 copy of the second at Harvard University. Not in Adams.
