Colour pictorial boards. 8 chromolitho moveable pictures. Pull the tab and the picture changes. B/w illustrations. Text in verse. Spine bumped and some light rubbing to cover edges. A few light spots to front edge of spine and some light scuffing to rear cover. Generally covers bright. Joints are cracked. Inscription in ink to verso of front free-endpaper. The second moveable image is not working - could possibly be repaired. Otherwise all others in excellent working order. Some light foxing and page browning and the pull-tabs are just a little grubby from fingering. Overall a super copy of a scarce moveable book. Published by Ernest Nister hardcover

The pop-up leaves are on thicker and better quality paper and have edge rubbing but NO tears to edges.These are large triple-layered intricate pop-ups. The title page is near the end of the book and one additional page is out of order but no missing pages. Pen marking to one page smudge marks and soiling to other pages. Light colouring to several illustrations. Some fingering to contents. Horse's tail slightly creased in second pop-up and couple of small patches of surface paper damage in deer pop-up. The pop-ups are all complete and in working order with only part of one stag's horn in facsimile. One pony's tail re-attached from the back & a few wrong folds strengthened on back invisibly. All sorts of fragile pieces such as duck heads ribbons flying fingers etc are all intact. The text page edges have fared less well with some edge fingering and some edge chips but never affecting any print. The text page edges have fared less well with some edge loss now skillfully repaired but never affecting any print. The pop-up leaves are on thicker and better quality paper and have edge rubbing but no tears to edges. Some of the struts may have been reglued or repaired invisibly. The pages have been resewn and the book is now fully stable and all pop-ups work MONTANARO 335.
