Ink offsetting on title page from the bold inscription on fly leaf. 12mo. 205 mm. Old crude leather repaired spine over paper covered boards. Boards stained. William Wilson (born 1749), came to Baltimore from the county of Limerick, Ireland, in 1770. Soon after the end of the Revolutionary War he became a shipping power, and a large importer of English goods. He was distinguished for his uprightness and liberality, and was prominent in public matters (including interest-free loans to the government).
