The Egypt described here differs from the well-known Egypt of the Pharaohs but is the little-known Egypt of St Mark.

The first volume of 'The Musician's Pilgrimage', the autobiography of the famous musicologist, founder of the New Life Movement and transcriber of Coptic church music. Extremely scarce, especially as a presentation copy. We have been unable to trace any institutional copy of this work.

Il Sottochiesa (nato nel 1893 a Rovereto, morto nel 1963) fu pubblicista cattolico e poeta vernacolare noto soprattutto per i suoi virulenti strali antisemiti dopo la promulgazione delle leggi razziali. Egli collaborò (si firmava spesso) 'Scriptor' e 'Arianus'), alle più facinorose riviste antigiudaiche italiane (Il Tevere, Quadrivio, La difesa della razza) e redasse il noto volume Sotto la maschera di Israele.
