10071 — Headed Smithsonian Institution United States National Museum Washington DC 12 Feb. 1907. Two pages 4to fold mark good cvondition saying: ". It is true that I was misled by a paragraph in the N.Y. Times into the supposition that Mrs. Pennell whose literary work I have greatly enjoyed was the same as the author of the powerful and thrilling story of the 'Magnetic North'; but Mr. Gilder put me right after I had posted the little article which on account of its subject I had presumed to hope might have some interest for you. Conditions have changed so in the Yukon country since my sojourn there that I might well look to you for an introduction to the new Yukon world - and it makes me feel extraordinarily ancient to realize the changes which the years have brought. For your share in helping toward a knowledge of them and lending the torch of your genius to make them not only visible but real to your readers we are all in your debt and I beg you will accept my thanks and congratulations as one of the many who appreciate it." Dall is referring to such works by Robins Mrs Parks as "The Alaska Klondike Diary of Elizabeth Robins" and "The Magnetic North".
